Eagle Crest Resort is Southeast Michigan's premier hotel, golf, conference center and hotel facility. Located just east of Ann Arbor off I-94, this 157-acre resort features a full service Marriott hotel, Eastern Michigan University Conference Center and championship golf course.
General Manager Tom Lamb, speaks proudly of the relationship that the UTEC team has built with Eagle Crest and with his management team.
"The first product we purchased from UTEC was the Sharp Aquos Interactive Display Board", states Lamb. Both Eagle Crest staff members and clients using the Conference Center facilities have utilized this display. "It's a wonderful system that is easily transported between our offices, conference and meeting rooms. It connects seamlessly to our IT network eliminating projector and connection frustrations. We believe our hotel is the only hotel offering the Sharp Interactive Display System to our clients".
Eagle Crest's network was in dire need of updating. Managed Network Services is an integral part of the total solution UTEC offers to businesses. As a Marriott full service hotel, it is mandatory to have local servers and computers that interface with corporate Marriott Property systems. UTEC's staff of IT professionals collaborated with the corporate office to establish the hardware needs and implemented a state-of-the-art network to interface with the front desk room key system, the food and beverage point of sale computers and the phone system.
Lamb shared the history of how the UTEC team took time to understand their system and assess what the needs were to fully integrate the interface of the local system to Marriott Property. "They came in, listened and gave us feedback on what steps had to be done immediately and a time table that fit our budget and our needs."
Once completed, Eagle Crest is now on a quarterly maintenance review so that future hardware needs or upgrades evaluated, reviewed and implemented on a proactive basis.
The last area of purchase from UTEC was to replace the previous copy machines with new Sharp Multi-Functional Devices. This process began with UTEC Senior Account Manager, Joe Green leading an evaluation process of the needs of the marketing & sales, accounting and food service departments. This evaluation quickly revealed that there would be productivity savings, better workflow and more reliability from the Sharp systems installed in the three areas. "It was a good business direction to move into the new equipment that can copy, print and fax documents" states Green.
In summary, Lamb states. "UTEC has been first class from every perspective. They are proactive and quick to respond whenever onsite service is required. The entire staff at UTEC is very professional and they work collaboratively with our managers and team."
