UTEC’S Open House and Ribbon Cutting Highlights

"When we planned this open house, we truly wanted a non-traditional event so we took advantage of March Madness to invite our customers, prospects. family and friends to our new office, where we would showcase all the technologies we offer and support" stated Van Kannel. "With the NCAA games on our 165 inch video wall, this turned out to be a great way to welcome everyone and serve a dual purpose of celebrating our new facility as well as serving as a unique networking opportunity for the A2Y and Brighton Chamber of Commerce members.

In total "over 400 people attended this festive event" per Christine Liphardt, UTEC Director of Marketing. "All registered attendees were placed in one of four NCAA brackets based on a blind draw". Prizes awarded to the bracket winner include – Virtual Reality Goggles (won by Darrel Kenney, Ann Arbor State Bank), Amazon Echo (won by Cheryl Clossick, Real Estate One), Eagle Crest Resort Marriott Hotel Stay and Play package for two (won by Michelle McAllister, Truven Healthy Analytics) , or a Bose Bluetooth stereo (won by Nick Dettore, Orange Cube Group). Liphardt has been updating all participants thru social media with the hash tag #UTECMadness.

The focal point of the party was the 165-inch video wall, which consisted of nine 55-inch high definition tv's that simultaneously displayed multiple games at one time.  UTEC also utilizes customizable digital signage software to power their lobby, showroom and office area monitors with video messaging.

The adjacent showroom showcased the latest in SHARP multi-functional devices, FORMAX document finishing solutions and ongoing demos during the afternoon and evening.

Groupuests were also able to see and learn about the Skywell drinking water system. This revolutionary new product creates clean water from the air! The Skywell system takes in ambient air, and through condensation, it collects moisture that meticulously filters it to remove contaminants. This pure water is ready for dispensing—hot or cold.

Several key partners worked with the staff at UTEC to make this party a huge success. That included the A2Y and Brighton Chamber of Commerce, Golden Limousine, Rocky's of Northville, What's up DAWG? and Wolverine State Brewery.
